International Baccalaureate
Diploma Program
The IBDP is a rigorous program of study that prepares high school juniors and seniors to excel in college and career. A comprehensive, holistic program, the Diploma Program places students at the center of their own education and encourages them to develop socially, emotionally, and academically. IDBP students gain global perspective and choose to make a positive difference in the world.
The Diploma Program emphasizes the development of a wide range of skills and abilities. Students learn to think creatively and critically. They become exceptional writers with strong communication and presentation skills. IBDP students learn how to tackle significant projects independently and collaboratively.
Walden chose to implement IB beginning in the 2015-16 school year. Our mission statement aligns closely with the IB’s mission statement, and we believe it is a good fit with our school.
The IB Mission Statement
The International Baccalaureate® aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.
These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
